Police have arrested Hasibul for a kidnapping and extortion case.
Police have arrested Chhatra League's popular secretary Hasibul, Sandeep Kumar, Mehdi Hasan Rubel, Yasin Ali, and Milon Hossain from Santhia.
Sathia Upazila Chhatra League secretary Hasibul Khan Sana and his 5 associates have been arrested by the police. According to the documents of the case, Adam businessman Helal Uddin, son of Billal Hossain of Bhadrakola village of the Upazila, took 15 lakh taka from people who wanted to go abroad and then cheated them. The popular secretary of Upazila Chhatra League Hasibul Khan Sana demanded a part of 15 lakh taka from Adam businessman Helal. Helal Uddin filed a false case against Hasibul without paying the money. After filing the case, Hasibul's associates arrested Helal and beat him.
After learning about the matter, Helal's relatives called 999 and Santhia Thana Police rescued Helal from the office around 8 pm. Police arrested 5 people like the popular secretary of Upazila Chhatra League Hasibul Khan Sana. Helal Uddin filed a kidnapping and extortion case accusing 5 people as the plaintiff. (Case No. 26, dated 26/7/22).
According to local sources, the well-known secretary of Upazila Chhatra League, Hasibul Khan Sana, has been accused of beating up the manager of a contractor and extorting money last year. A case has been filed at the police station. Hasibul Khan Sana and Rubel are also accused of insulting journalist Habibur Rahman Swapan. Santhia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asif Mohammad Siddiqul Islam said that there are additional cases against Chhatra League leader Hasibul Khan Sana and Rubel. The arrested were sent to jail by the Pabna court on Monday morning.
